Born in Kankakee, Illinois but raised in the streets of North Minneapolis, Clenton Trass aka Clent Eastwood has been writing rhymes and rapping since the young age of fourteen. Running the streets as a teenager and following the wrong crowds, Clent dropped out of high school and began selling illegal drugs. As a product of his environment surrounded by poverty and crime, Clenton found himself in a situation resulting in a 4 year prison sentence. After returning from what could be described as a life changing experience, Eastwood decided to leave old ways in the past and use it as an opportunity to tell his story through music. Standing at 6 foot 4 and over 280 pounds, his genre of hardcore rap is equally as intimidating as he looks. However, although rough, his smooth delivery and ability to tell a story through clever metaphors and punchlines softens the blow for what can only be described as undeniable talent.
In the beginning of 2011, Clenton decided to form his own independent rap label, Fifty Five Four Eleven Entertainment, named after the zip code of where he has spent most of his life. After appearing on various shows and opening up for national artists like Young Dro, Lil Scrappy & K. Michelle, Eastwood easily became a fan favorite among the local hip-hop scene. June 28th, 2012, Clent Eastwood won the title of ‘Best Performance’ out of 9 other competitors in the “Next To Blow Radio Best Performance Competition” at The Red Sea in South Minneapolis. Following that competition, Eastwood was nominated in 5 different categories in the Twin Cities Urban Music Awards, a Minnesota based awards show promoting and recognizing artists impact on the Twin Cities music scene. In March 2013 during the official award ceremony, Eastood was awarded “TC’s Next To Blow Up” for the highest amount of votes. Since, Eastwood has appeared on countless internet radio shows, entertainment blogs, and most recently graced the cover of the #1 Hip-Hop Radio Station via CD, KCDR Radio.
With the assistance of Minneapolis based marketing and public relations firm, MaXXposure Marketing Group, Clent Eastwood has very high hopes of becoming more of a nationally recognized artist. Eastwood has already had the honor of performing in front of industry heavyweights such as D-Block/Brick Squad 1017′s super producer Don Mega and the Dog Father himself, Snoop Dogg (Lion). “It was definitely a blessing being able to perform on a stage with two legends standing beside me.” referring to Snoop and California rapper Suga Free during a Memorial Day performance with fellow artist MN Fats. “I feel real confident right now, but still remain humble because this is only the beginning. I have a lot more work to do.” – Clent Eastwood
Clent Eastwood recently opened up for the Legendary Doug E. Fresh at the Cabooze, Migos at The Pourhouse in Minneapolis, and Do or Die in Savage, MN. His hit single “Ghost” has gained nationwide appeal landing on various blogs and mixtapes and his latest release “So I Hustle” is now available on iTunes.
