The Urban Maven Small Business Showcase was launched in 2006 by Robbins as a vehicle to create increased awareness for emerging businesses. Robbins, herself an entrepreneur, is the owner of Anika International Cosmetics http://www.anikainternational.com , a Twin Citiesʼ based skin care and cosmetics business. She realized that through collaboration and networking, small businesses were able to leverage their shared resources with far-reaching results.ʻSo often we operate in our individual silos, not realizing we are choking our own success,ʼ say Robbins. “I believe strongly that thereʼs room for everyone who is prepared and ready to do business.” Itʼs possible to achieve your business objectives faster, through networking and sharing information and resources.”
